Mike Wassel was born into an average family. There wasn't really anything special about it. Mike always knew that he wanted to fly and explore the distant planets. So, he entered pilot school and recieved his piloting license. His family helped him pay for this, and after he had paid them back, he began his journey. He joined the Commonwealth because they were the ones who were best in defense. Mike had never been the greatest at weapons, but he could fly pretty well. So after joining the Commonwealth alliance, and with 1 million credits in his pocket, he started out to explore and see what he could find.
